Get Your Perfect, Beautiful Smile With Porcelain Veneers
Dr. Candace L. Peterson and her friendly staff are happy to provide Tualatin, Tigard and the surrounding Oregon areas with comprehensive dental treatment options, including porcelain veneers. Porcelain veneers are thin pieces of porcelain that will be attached to the front of your natural tooth and are created specifically to fit with, and match the shade of, your natural teeth. Each veneer is custom created by a dental laboratory in order to ensure durability and accurate shaping. Veneers offer a solution to a wide variety of dental problems, and are, in most cases, an effective alternative to dental crowns.
Why Your Cosmetic Dentist Will Recommend Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are a perfect solution for many cosmetic issues, such as:
• Misshapen, or crooked teeth
• Teeth that have been stained or discolored.
• Correcting uneven spacing between teeth
• Teeth that have been worn down, or chipped
• Teeth that are the incorrect shape for your smile
What Is The Process Involved With Getting A Porcelain Veneer?
Two visits are required for the porcelain veneer procedure, and can usually be fully completed in six weeks. First, the tooth must be prepared for the placement of the veneer. We accomplish this by reshaping your tooth through and lightly buffing it, in order to allow space for the veneer itself. Dr. Peterson will consult you about the shade that will be used, and will take molds of the teeth to craft the veneer.
Once the porcelain veneer has been created, you will have to return for a second appointment for placement. Dr. Peterson will use special cleaning liquids to ensure the bonding area will create a durable and lasting bond. We will then bond the veneer to the proper area using bonding cement, and using a special light beam to cause the bond to rapidly harden and set permanently. Dr. Peterson will instruct on further care for your new veneer.
